Our Big Girl Turns Two Months

Another month is complete with our Lydia.  We love her a little more each and every day.  Here is this month's list of updates.

  • We have a doctor's appointment next week, but we are guessing that she weighs 12-13 pounds. **Update: She was 13 lbs. 2 ozs. and 23.75 inches
  • Moved up to size one diapers and 0-3 month clothes.  We have so many that we are still wearing something new each day - no repeats!  I put all of the newborn clothes away (with a lot of tears).
  • Many of our firsts from month one have become favorite things: she loves baths, water, and visiting friends and family.
  • We experienced even more firsts!  Swimming with daddy, meeting almost all of her Tennessee family, the movies, church, helping momma set up her classroom, LEGOLAND, and has become a regular at the mall.
  • She has become a smiley baby!  The first smile and coo were for Mar, quickly followed by momma and daddy.
  • I was completely released from the doctor, so our favorite summertime has been walking at the mall to escape the heat.
  • Still a great eater and sleeper.  Most of the time she sleeps at least one five hour and one four hour stretch, and has even gone as much as nine hours one time!  I miss her when she sleeps that long at night and worry when I wake up.  The five hour stretches are perfect for now.
  • Generally a pleasant disposition.  Occasionally we have grouchier days, and we have learned that if she is overly tired she fights sleep.  Then she gets sad.  I have realized that she is forming more preferences these days and letting us know what they are.
  • A strawberry hemangioma (we are pretty sure) has developed on her head.  It isn't our favorite thing, but it will be covered by a bow soon enough.  For now it is under her bow most of the time.
Sweet baby, momma has loved this month with you!  We have become more mobile, and I love to take you everywhere with me.  You've become my little errand running sidekick!  I love to see your smiles and listen to you coo and "talk".  I love how happy you are and how you like to take in the world around you.  Momma is finally a little less teary at the thought of you growing up, but that doesn't mean she doesn't want to cherish every second.  I have learned so much about living in the present with you in my life.  Your sweetness makes it easy to enjoy today and not be in a hurry for you to be any older.  You are the love of both your daddy's and my lives.  We look at each other and can't believe you're ours and that we are so lucky.  We love you Lydi V!
Dressed and ready for a dip in the pool.  She looks really... excited?

She loved it, just like her bath!

I had to try out my new camera lens on my two favorites.  We say that daddy is in charge of sanitation (diapers) and entertainment (patting her to sleep once she is swaddled for the night.

Oh, how I love her.
She is really filling out the gown she wore in the hospital.

Sweet girl after church.  She doesn't know what to think about her first smocked bubble.

Much more awake this month, and really filling up the chair.  I cannot get over these legs.  I could kiss them all day.

Lots of lovin' from our cousins during their visit.

We had a day of pjs and rest after our family went home.  It was nice to have nowhere to go.

First team meeting at the lake house.  My team let Nick come too.  He was our drive.

Looking back, this is the day that Lydia really seemed to "wake up".  She was more alert and expressive beginning this day.

LEGOLAND date with the cousins.

Movie day and lunch with cousins.

Our first solo attempt at the grocery store.

Our first day to church.  We wore our sweet smocked dress from cousin, Josie.  LVB was a pretty good girl, and we finished the service in the mom's room.  It was so great to be back in worship.

Newborn pjs are getting pretty snug.
I bought this outfit for Raigen when she was a baby.  It has been worn by all three girls.

The best smile caught on camera so far.

Rylan's puppy paws onesie, Lydia's puppy.
She's changing so fast.
